Hello and a warm welcome to Fresh Thinking Hypnotherapy. My name is Cathy Cartwright and I am a Solution Focused Hypnotherapist, Hypnotherapy Supervisor and Senior Lecturer for CPHT Newcastle. I am based in Rochdale, Greater Manchester. I hold the Hypnotherapy Practitioner Diploma, considered to be the gold standard in Hypnotherapy training. The HPD covers many approaches to hypnotherapy and is accredited by the NCFE.
Having gained both a Certificate and Diploma in Therapeutic Hypnotherapy, I began to specialise in Solution Focused Hypnotherapy with the Clifton Practice, one of the most prestigious training schools in the country and the lead in Solution Focused Hypnotherapy.
I am a member of the Association for Solution Focused Hypnotherapy, the National Council for Hypnotherapy, the Hypnotherapy Association and also on the Complementary & Natural Healthcare Council's (CNHC) accredited register. As such, I am bound by and follow the Code of Ethics in my practice, attend regular supervisions and I hold a current DBS.
Having a long history of working with people of all ages and walks of life, I am fully aware of what life can throw out at times. I have a wide range of experiences of working with all ages from very young children to the elderly in many different capacities. I spent many years working as a Nursery Officer, Educational and Behavioural Support Assistant in addition to working with vulnerable clients. I then went onto studying and achieving the Certificate in Education which qualified me to teach in Further Education – this was shortly followed by further qualifications and achievement of the Assessor Awards.
Since qualifying as a Hypnotherapist, I have helped many clients who have experienced difficulties relating to a wide range of areas including stress, anxiety, depression, fears, phobias, weight control, performance, public speaking and confidence issues. My youngest client at 9 years old and the eldest being 71 years old – so far!
In addition to working with clients on an individual basis, I have also worked with groups, delivering training to teaching staff in particular, who had experienced considerable stress prior to my work with them. We discussed a wide range of strategies to deal with stress and anxiety. It was clear from their verbal and written comments that the staff greatly enjoyed the session especially the hypnotic relaxation at the end!
Although Hypnotherapy does not give any guarantees, many of my clients have been very pleased with the results and I am pleased to say that a large percentage of my clients have come as referrals.
I have always maintained a very keen interest in working with people in helping them to achieve their goals. Having worked in varied environments, I have experienced and seen first-hand the effects that stress, anxiety and depression can have on people, but more importantly, how Hypnotherapy has changed lives for the better.
The best part of my work is seeing the positive changes in clients and the tremendous benefits the changes have had on their health, outlook and lives.
Please do ring or send me an email and we can start to change your life…..and get you back on the right track.
